The NeckSafe® Programme teaches the first person on the scene of a potential Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) how to assess and manage the situation.

It is an 8 hour course specifically dedicated to an injury which could ruin the lives of an individual, his family and friends, and cost the community upwards of $3 million. Law suits in this area commonly top $20 million, but the social devastation can be much worse.

NeckSafe Aquatic is specifically geared toward the waterway user and all those who may be called upon to respond to still water (rivers, creeks and pools) or open water (surf)

COURSE REGISTRATION

Level 1 is suitable for players, coaches, parents, trainers and first responders

Level 2 is aimed at professionals such as doctors, physiotherapists etc

Areas covered in the training include:

  • Background to Spinal Cord Injury
  • Neurological evaluation
  • Treatment of Spinal Cord Injury
  • Spinal injuries in the aquatic environment
  • Transporting the “spinal patient”
  • Spinal transport equipment

The NeckSafe® course is taught by experts in the field to ensure that the experiences gained have practical application in the real world
