Impact Monitoring: is it needed?

Impact monitoring users sensors known as accelerometers which objectively measure impact in linear and rotational directions.
By quantifying the duration and intensity of the force sustained by the players head of the brain within it, significant impacts can be recognised which may be otherwise missed by an observer sideline trying to follow the players on the field.
Studies have shown that up to 50% of players who sustain significant impact forces detected by sensors but not observed in fact have cognitive impairment.
